Brenda is a certified Grief Recovery Institute® specialist, specializing in grief recovery at the workplace. She is the founder of Compassion at Work (www.compassionatwork.com) a consulting firm that provides assistance to Human Resource managers whose employees have experienced a loss. She has helped corporate, government and non-profit organizations address losses due to death, long-term illness, workplace violence and catastrophic events.

After the sudden death of her 16-year-old son, Tommy, in 1994, she co-facilitated the Orange Coast, California chapter of The Compassionate Friends, an international, non-profit organization that assists bereaved parents.

She is currently an expatriate living in Hanoi, Vietnam. Brenda, also a Reiki Master is continuing her research, consulting and freelance journalism on cultural diversity and grief.

Membership in Educational / Professional Organizations:
Brenda is affiliated with Grief Recovery institute and is on the Amerasia Journal Media Advisory Board. She is a member of the National Writers Union and the Society for Human Resources Management.
